Winnemucca to the Sea in Reverse

We're in Winnemucca NV tonight.  Who would have thought that we'd experience a gully washer of a thunder storm here in the desert, but it must have rained a couple of inches while we were eating supper.  There was smoke in the air while we were driving down the Winnemucca Highway. Apparently the smoke was from the wild fires in California.  In any event, that rain should have taken care of it.

The picture above is our last night's spot at the Ana Resevoir near Summer Lake, OR.  It was a quiet, isolated spot with great owners who spent time talking to us.

We left here and drove to Winnemucca by way of the Winnemucca to the Sea route.  There were very few cars on this road, just as there was little traffic when we went this way in 1972. We were going back to the Mid-West from Malin the very first time.  A walk back in time.  There aren't very many people any where in Eastern Oregon and Northern Nevada.
